IDEAS WITH SOYA MINCE

Any exciting recipes with Soya mince? Trying to come up with something exciting and so far have made Spaghetti bolognaise, cottage pie. Need other ideas with these packets of mutton flavoured soya mince. Thanks

Jaffels, mince and vetkoek and even bobotie. My son is a vegetarian and I have to be very creative.
Susan Van Dyk:
You can even use it in soup for winter. Very tasty. We also incorporate tofu.
Chavron Lewis:
So I can make a normal veggie soup and add some of this soya?

OVEN-DRIED TOMATOES WITH ROSEMARY

OVEN-DRIED TOMATOES WITH ROSEMARY
15 cherry tomatoes, halved
1 tbsp of olive oil
½ garlic clove, minced
8 rosemary leaves, finely chopped
salt
pepper

Preheat the oven to 150°C/gas mark 2.
Mix the garlic and rosemary into the oil and season with salt and pepper.
Place the halved tomatoes cut-side up on a baking tray and drizzle the flavoured oil over them. Place in the oven and cook for 35–45 minutes or until just starting to dry out, then remove from oven. Store in container in fridge for up to a week.

Kortpad metode agterna geleer, meng die tamaties met die res van die bestandele en pak dan eers op die tray, baie gouer as om oor te drizzle en dit is dan beter bedek met die olie mengsel.

APPELMOES

APPELMOES
Ging jachtschotel maken dus zelf appelmoes gemaakt.
3 kilo goudrenette geschild en in stukjes
6 el suiker
300 ml water
3 tl kaneel
Sap van halve citroen

Doe alles in in pan en maak het aan de kook, roer het af en toe goed door.
De.de deksel en op maar laat een stukje open en laat het zachtjes doorkoken een minuut of 10-15, af en toe roeren.
Ik heb er nog de staafmixer en nog door gedaan , maar dat hoef niet.
Heb de appelmoes die ik nodig heb in een schaal gedaan de rest in een potje makkelijk voor later.

CANDIED JALEPENOS
Cowboy Candy is Jalapenos that was pickled in sweet pickle for a month and thereafter drained and dehydrated for 3 days until crunchy. There aren’t words that exist to describe how addictive these little savoury, sweet, spicy, crunchy, garlicky pickled jalapeno rounds are. Put them on sandwiches, tacos, rice or bake them into cornbread. You’ll need more and more! This recipe yields between 4 and 6 half pints. (240 ml each)

3 pounds fresh firm, jalapeno peppers, washed (1.5 kg)
2 cups cider vinegar
6 cups white granulated sugar
½ teaspoon turmeric
½ teaspoon celery seed
3 teaspoons granulated garlic

My dogter maak die resep vir kinders in haar klas.
2 koppies maizena
1 koppie haarversagmiddel (conditioner)
paar druppels koek kleursel

Gooi die versagmiddel in die bak, drup ‘n paar druppels kleursel daarby, meng die maizena by.
Meng dit totdat so dik blob vorm dit is sysagte klei en ruik vreeslik lekker.
Ons verpak dit in zip lock sakkies binne ‘n roomysbak.

CLEAN YOUR LUNGS AND FLU SYRUP
You need:
5 carrots
1 lemon
5 tablespoons honey

Wash the carrots well, cut the ends. Cut it in thin slices.
Put the carrots in a pot with 1 litre of water and boil it (soft enough to smash with a fork but not completely cooked) Mine where a bit undercooked but I just blended.
Let it cool down, add the lemon juice and the honey.
Mix well.
Strain the carrots fibre and put in a glass jar. (don’t use the fibre as children don’t like it)
Refrigerate.
