ASHLEA’S CHICKEN PIE
Filling:
250g streaky bacon, chopped
500g chicken breasts, cubed
1 small onion, finely chopped
Mushrooms, finely chopped (not sure about grams)
1 packet roast chicken gravy
1 packet cook in chicken a la king sauce
Chicken spice
Garlic spice
Mixed herbs
Method:
Fry bacon until crispy, drain on kitchen towel. Using same pan, fry your onions, mushrooms and chicken adding the spices. Shred your chicken and return to the pan, add your gravy, bacon and cook in sauce. Simmer while you make the pie crust mixture.
Pie crust:
1 cup plain flour
2 tsp baking powder
Salt
Pepper
1/2 cup butter or marg, melted
1 cup milk
Method:
Add all the dry ingredients to the milk and butter. It will be quite thick but runny.
Add your pie filling to a ovenproof dish and spoon the crust mixture over the top.
Bake in a 220°C preheated oven for about 30 minutes or until golden brown!
