

DEVIL’S FOOD CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH GANACHE
300 g cake flour
50 g cocoa
2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
1 teaspoon salt
Sift the above ingredients together and put aside.
Whisk the following until light and fluffy
300 g light brown sugar
120 g softened butter
2 teaspoon vanilla essence
Extra:
30 g chocolate melted
3 eggs
175 ml Soured cream or butter milk
1 teaspoon vinegar
1 cup boiling water
Add chocolate to the sugar mixture.
Add eggs one at a time mixing well after each egg.
Add dry ingredients and soured cream/butter milk in 3 batches
Add vinegar and slowly whisk in the boiling water
Bake at 190ºC for 40 – 45 min if using a ring.
Bake at 190ºC for 25 – 30.min if using 22cm cake tins
