CHOCOLATE , STRAWBERRY AND LEMON BIRTHDAY CAKE WITH FONDANT ICING AND FLOWERS
Chocolate Cake:
3 Cups Flour
3 Cups Milk
3 Eggs
1 and 1/2 Tablespoons Baking Powder
Pinch of Salt
1/2 Cup Oil
1/2 Cup Castor Sugar
160 ml Cocao Powder
1. Mix the dry ingredients and then add all the other ingredients and mix well.
2. Set aside.
Strawberry Cake:
3 Cups Flour
3 Cups Milk
3 Eggs
1 and 1/2 Tablespoons Baking Powder
Pinch of Salt
1/2 Cup Oil
1/2 Cup Castor Sugar
250 g Strawberry Topping(store bought)
1. Mix the dry ingredients and then add all the other ingredients and mix well.
2. Set aside.
Lemon Cake:
3 Cups Flour
3 Cups Milk
3 Eggs
1 and 1/2 Tablespoons Baking Powder
Pinch of Salt
1/2 Cup Oil
1/2 Cup Castor Sugar
250 g Lemon Curd Topping(store bought)
1. Mix the dry ingredients and then add all the other ingredients and mix well.
2. Set aside.
In four Medium size cake pans, throw a little bit of each cake mixture in a cake pan so that all 3 cake flavours is in the cake pan and forms a circle.
Put in the oven on 180Degrees Celsius for 45min.
After it has come out in the oven put on a cooling rack, bit turn over the cakes so that the top is on the cooling rack.
Purple Buttercream Icing:
500 g Margarine
500 g Icing Sugar
10ml Purple Gel Food Colouring
1. Cream the butter in a mixing bowl.
2. Add the icing sugar while mixing.
3. Now add the food colouring.
4. Set Aside.
Filling for the Cake:
250 g Lemon Curd Topping(store bought)
250 g Strawberry Topping(store bought)
1. Between each layer of cake after it has been cooled off, spread between each layer and stack on one another.
2. Now spread the purple Buttercream icing on the whole cake till well covered.
3. Put in the fridge overnight so that the buttercream icing can harden up.
Fondant Icing:
1 kg Puple Fondant/Plastic Icing(store bought)
250 g Grape Fondant/Plastic Icing(store bought)
250 g Sky Blue Fondant/Plastic Icing(store bought)
100 g White Gun Paste(store bought)
Sugar Art Glue
Glitter (optional)
1. If the buttercream icing has harden up, take out of the fridge.
2. Now roll out the purple fondant/plastic icing on some icing sugar.
3. If the purple fondant/plastic icing is hard, place in the microwave for 30sec. to soften and then knee it a little till it is elastic.
4. With a fondant roller roller roll out the purple fondant/plastic icing, till the shape of your cake and cover with the purple fondant/plastic icing.
5. Now take some of the blue fondant/plastic icing and the grape fondant/plastic icing and roll out also over some icing.
6. Take a flower fondant/plastic cutter(that goes from small to big and there are three flower cutters) and press the flowers out and put them randomly with some sugar art glue on the back so that it would stay on the cake.
7. Do the same with the white gum paste.
8. Now add the glitter all over till the birthday cake is covered with glitter.
9. Serve and enjoy!
