KRISTIE’S CHICKEN PIE
⭐️Hey almal goeie naand! Ons eet vanaand hoender pastei met pickled tamaties en baby marrow!
Ingredients:
* 2 Chicken fillets
* 2 Onions chopped
* 6 Mushrooms Chopped
* 1 Cup Corn
* 1 Cup Stock of your choice
* 500ml Full Cream Milk
* 1/4 Cup Flour
* 2 Rolls Puff Pastry
* Salt and pepper to taste
* Herbs and spices to taste
Method:
1. In a skillet pan add the chopped onions and fry till golden, and also add the salt and pepper and herbs and spices.
2. Add the chicken fillets cut into pieces and fry till cooked.
3. Add the mushrooms to the pan and the corn and fry for 10-20min.
4. Put the oven on 200Degrees.
5. In a square oven pan put some puff pastry in the bottom of the pan and the sides. Where all the puff pastry is closed together, spread some egg white on and put in the oven for 30min.
6. Now continue with the chicken pie mixture, add the milk, chicken stock and flour and mix well and cook till a thicker consistency.
7. After the bottom of the puff pastry in the pan has been cooked, remove from the oven and add the chicken pie mixture.
8. Now add a top layer of puff pastry on the top and where it is closed spread with egg white.
9. Now spread some egg yolk on the whole top of the puff pastry till it is completely covered.
10. Put back in the oven for 40min.
11. After it has cooked in the oven remove and let cool for at least 20min.
12. Can be served with a salad or side dish of your choice.
13. Serve & Enjoy!
