CHARMAINE’S HOME COOKED MEATPIES
3 cups of flour
1 egg
2 pinches of salt
1 glass of water
3scoops of margarine
2 tablespoon of vegetable oil
Mince meat or (chicken. Pork. Lamb) . Potatoes. Onions. Garlic. Paprika. Tyme. Blackpeper.
As for meat and potatoes . You can put as much or little you want. For my recipe I put 400 grams of minced meat and 2 potatoes
In a bowl mix your flour and margarine. Mix using rubing method. Make a well and pour a glass of water. Mix well till it becomes a big lump. Knead for 3 minutes. Place back in a bowl and let it rest.
For the filling in a pan fry your onions add garlic. Add the minced meat. Add the cubed potatoes. Add salt, tyme, paprika and black pepper.Add any vegetables you want. Simmer for 3 minutes.
As the meat cooks, divide the dough into 4 pieces. At this moment preheat oven at 180 degrees. Roll out the dough the same you would do to chapati. Get a sizeable bowl. Cut the dough into bowl circles. Apply egg white on each piece of the dough. Add the filling. Make sure it’s on one side so that it will fold easily. fold the dough into two. Using a fork close the ends completely
Apply margarine to the baking tray. So that your dough won’t stick to the pan. Take an egg wash and generously apply to all pies.
Into the oven bake until golden brown
