ANDY’S FRIKKIES IN BROWN ONION SAUCE
1 – 1.3kg lean mince
1 cup raw oats
1 T chilli powder (or to taste)
1 packet oxtail soup powder
1 large raw onion grated
Generous spoon of crushed garlic
Pepper, a little salt if desired, a generous pinch of a thyme or other green herb
Oven on 200C. Mix everything together lightly. Form into golf ball sizes and pack together in large pan.
Combine 750ml boiling water with a packet brown onion soup. Pour over balls and place in oven. Bake for about 45 to 60 min or until nicely browned and cooked. Serve hot on bed of mash or rice or let cool and pack for padkos etc.
