oats squarestested
GRANNY SWARTZ’S OATS SQUARES
2 cups Oats
1 cup cake flour
1 cup sugar
1 cup coconut
pinch of salt
½ cup raisins
½ cup sunflower seeds
Mix all dry ingredients together.
2 tablespoons syrup or honey
250 g butter
½ teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
Boil the above together till frothy.
Pour over the dry ingredients and mix well. Put into a greased baking sheet and press down well. Bake at 160ºC till golden brown.
Turn oven off and open door and leave in oven to cool.
Cut whilst still soft. Enjoy!
