APPLE JELLY SPREAD OR ANY OTHER FRUIT JUICE JELLY
Good day to you all. Today I made apple jelly spread. It came out so lovely that I thought I would share this easy recipe with everyone. Normally I will give you the source, but I watched so many videos on youtube about making jelly and to be honest almost everyone I watched were using the exact same method, so how do you credit only one person? I hope you guys enjoy and will use this very easy way of making a lovely spread for your scones/sandwiches.
Here is the recipe: Apple jelly / any other juice jelly (This recipe makes 10 cups = 10 ½ pint jars)
6 cups 100% fruit juice with no added sugar
12 Tbsp regular pectin
7 cups of sugar
Pour your juice into a pot. Mix your pectin with a quarter cup of your sugar and pour into the juice and mix well. Place on the stove and bring to a boil. Add your sugar 1 tsp butter and mix well until the sugar has dissolved. Bring to a rolling boil, set your timer for 1 minute but do not stop stirring. Turn off the heat. If there is foam remove the foam, but usually the knob of butter takes care of the problem. If for any reason you leave your station for two seconds a skin can form and this could potentially leave you with unclear jelly, so please keep stirring gently while the jelly is cooking. Pour into warm sterilised jars. Place in a water bath for 15 minutes.
Note: Through this entire process you need to keep stirring, please make sure you have no distractions when you do this.
