½ cup butter
½ brown sugar
¼ cup molasses
¼ cup honey
1 tsp vanilla
2 ½ cups flour
2 tsp ginger powder
1 tsp baking soda
½ tsp nutmeg
½ tsp cinnamon
½ tsp allspice
¼ tsp salt
1/8 tsp cloves
Preheat oven to 180°C.
Cream butter, sugar, molasses and honey together.
Beat in egg and vanilla.
In another bowl combine dry ingredients.
Add the wet ingredients and mix well.
On a floured surface in batches roll the dough to ¼ inch thickness.
Cut using cookies cutters or stencils.
Place on ungreased baking sheets.
Bake about 8-10 min until nicely browned and sturdy.
Ice when completely cooled.
I used royal icing to decorate mine.
