YASMEEN’S FISH CAKES
2 cups of fish (middlecut or cooked hake), water removed
1 slice bread, soaked in water and drained
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon of pepper
1 Tblsp dhania powder
1 Tblsp jeera powder
½ teaspoon of nutmeg
3 green chillies, sliced finely
1 Tblsp of garlic
few chopped green onions
½ bunch dhania
3 beaten eggs
bread crumbs (home made or bought)
Mix all ingredients and make into flat round shapes on the palm of your hand.
Dip in egg and roll in breadcrumbs.
Fry in shallow oil until golden brown on both sides.
N.B. I prefer making breadcrumbs at home with toasted bread crushed in a food processor. Gives a much better texture.
