BABY MARROW BAKE
125 gm butter or margarine melted
250 ml cheddar cheese grated
250 ml cake flour
Mix together and spread over the base of a 20cm square dish or large tart plate (My Pyrex in photo is 26 cm dia x 6 cm height). Spray the sides with non-stick spray.
*I added cayenne pepper & smoked paprika to my dough for the crust.
350 g baby marrows grated coarsely
1 onion grated
Fry the above for 10-15 minutes and allow to cool.
Mix the following together:
250 ml Ideal Milk or cream (I used the whole can of Ideal Milk)
1 packet of white onion soup powder
Add this to the baby marrow mix and pour on top of the crust.
Sprinkle with half a cup of mature Cheddar cheese and bake in preheated oven at 180°C for 40 minutes or till set and golden brown.
In my Solardom oven I preheat oven and bake on Speed Combi 5 at 200°C + M/W 360W for 20 minutes.
I would love to try this with corn kernels & bacon bits or even broccoli pieces & bacon bits. Cut asparagus & cheese would also work well. Actually the combinations are as endless as your creative mind.
