MARIETA’S CINNAMON ROLLS
11/4 cup All purpose flour
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 tbsp cold butter
7-8 tbsp cold milk
Filling
2 tbsp +2 tsp butter softened
1/3 cup packed brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
Cut the butter in the flour until crumbly
Stir in milk a tablespoon at a time
Toss with a fork until mixture forms a ball
Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface
Roll into a 7 inch square. Spread with 2 tbsp of butter
Combine sugar and cinnamon. Sprinkle over butter
Roll up in jellyroll style. Cut into even slices
Place cut side up in a greased pan
Bake @200°C for 18-20 min or until golden brown
Melt remaining butter and brush over rolls
Serve warm
Icing
2 cups icing sugar
1-3 tbsp half and half cream or
1 tbsp cream
Dash salt
Mix together to achieve a spreading consistency
Add vanilla, orange or lemon essence if desired
