SHARONS SWEET AND SOUR CHICKEN STRIPS
Cut chicken breasts into strips and season.
Mix together about 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup maizena and about 1 teaspoon baking powder together in a bowl with ice cold water to make a batter. Season batter to your taste… I just use salt and pepper.
Dip the strips into batter and fry in VERY hot oil till golden brown. …. About 2 minutes
SWEET and SOUR sauce
3 tablespoons brown sugar
3 tablespoons tomato sauce
1/2 cup vinegar
1/2 cup pineapple juice
3 teaspoons maizena mixed with a little water
Bring to boil till thick.
Serve on rice.
I normally double my sauce…. It smells really strong because of the vinegar, but as it gets thick it comes right. Yummy
